Newcastle reportedly plotting surprise £10million move for Liverpool attacker

Newcastle United could be set to make a £10 million bid for Liverpool youngster Sheyi Ojo. The Magpies have tried to sign the player on loan but failed and they may now attempt to sign him permanently.

Liverpool could be open to such a move and Ojo is also be expected to be left out of the Reds’ pre-season tour of Asia in order to work on a possible transfer.

Since making his first team debut for the Reds in January 2016, Ojo has played 13 times in all competitions for the club, scoring one goal.

He however featured just twice in all competitions last season and may be tempted by a move to Newcastle if he can get more playing time.

Rafa Benitez is a fan of the 20-year-old Ojo, who helped the England under-21 side claim glory in the European Championships this summer.

The Magpies will also need to add in new players to their squad ahead of the Premier League campaign. Thus far, they have managed to secure a permanent deal for Christian Atsu and have sign Florian Lejeune from Eibar.
