Liverpool captain backs his team to deliver next season despite transfer market frustrations

Despite having to endure frustration in the transfer market thus far this summer, Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has revealed that he believes that his team will deliver next season.

The Reds have managed to buy Dominic Solanke and Mohamed Salah, however they have had to endure frustration in their attempts to land Virgil van Dijk and RB Leipzig star Naby Keita.

The 27-year-old Henderson is however confident that despite their frustrations, his team will be good next season.

He said, “We want to be winning things. That is the aim. We will go into every game and every tournament we are in wanting to win. We have to set the bar very high.

“There is plenty of competition for places. We have a fantastic group of players who want a better season this year and we will be working as hard as we can to impress the manager to get into the team.”

Jurgen Klopp will need to make quality additions to his side ahead of next season, especially with the team set to play in the Champions League. It remains to be seen what will happen, though there definitely will be transfer activity.
