After racking up 346 appearances it seems that the end of the road has come for Lucas Leiva at Anfield, according to the Daily Star.
Although the Brazilian is currently training with the Reds at Melwood, he was not offered a contract extension by Jurgen Klopp this summer.
Lucas joined Liverpool from Gremio in the summer of 2007 for £5million. The 30-year-old was known more for his defensive duties as a mid-fielder than goal scoring as he scored just seven goals throughout his Liverpool career.
It has emerged that there are a number of suitors for the Brazilian midfielder but Lazio are on top of the list. Lazio manager Simone Inzaghi is finding a possible replacement for Lucas Biglia, who looks AC Milan bound.
However, it is not a done deal yet as Lucas isn’t the only one on Inzaghi’s list. He also monitoring Tolgay Arslan’s situation at Besiktas.
Wherever Lucas ends up at the end of this summer, he will always remain a hero in the hearts of Liverpool FC fans.
