Newcastle United have confirmed that youngster Tom Heardman has signed a new one year deal with the club. The striker will spend next season on loan with League One outfit Bury.
Heardman will now be linking up with former Magpies stars Lee Clark and Alan Thompson at Gigg Lane. Whether he remains at the Magpies beyond this season will at the end depend on whether he can shine this season during his time at Bury.
The fact that the Magpies offered him a one year deal illustrates that they are going to watch the player during the upcoming season to assess if he has what it takes to succeed at the highest level.
After the deal was confirmed, Clark said, “Tom is a really good young player that I have been monitoring for around a year now at Newcastle United.
“I have seen the progress that he has made and he will be a different type of striker to the ones that we already have here at the club.”
