Brendan Rodgers certainly has been left very pleased following the friendly game against East Kilbride. Not only did the Hoops won with 3-1, but Kundai Beny scored his first goal in Celtic’s jersey, and he has done it on his debut.
Beny scored the second goal in the game, which gave his team a two-goal lead. Rodgers would surely have been delighted with Beny’s goal as he signed the 19-year-old just one week ago, and already the investment is already starting to pay off.
The talented midfield had been a part of Ipswich Town since he was 9 years and went through all youth categories. At the age of 17, Beny signed a professional contract, but he never got the opportunity to show his potential for the first team.
During the previous year, he was loaned to Aldershot Town, where he appeared 22 times and scored 5 goals. Rodgers has now given him a second chance, and the talented Beny is sure to take advantage.
