According to reports, Newcastle United have secured the signature of youngster Sean Longstaff on a two year deal following some impressive performances for the club’s reserve and youth sides.
The 19-year-old Longstaff impressed for Peter Beardsley’s side last season and found himself regularly on the score sheet.
He spent last season on loan with Scottish Premiership outfit Kilmarnock, for whom he bagged three goals from 16 appearances.
Though the youngster earned himself a contract, he is not as yet ready to play for the Magpies senior side on a regular basis and is expected to be loaned out to an EFL side next season to continue his progress.
He is currently training with the Magpies under-23 side and could be given game time in a number of pre-season friendlies in order to prove his ability to coaches within the squad. Longstaff is an exciting player to watch out for in the future.
