According to reports, Newcastle United are one of a number of Premier League clubs that are interested in taking Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart on loan next season.
The England national team first choice goalkeeper Hart has been frozen out of City’s future plans by Pep Guardiola and spent last season on loan with Italian Serie A club Torino.
He has now returned to the Etihad Stadium as a result of Torino not being able to afford his salary on a long-term basis.
For the Magpies, Karl Darlow, Rob Elliot and Matz Sels all failed to sufficiently convince that they can hold onto the first choice position on a long term basis during the opportunities handed to them last season.
After failing to sign Pepe Reina and Willy Caballero, who joined Chelsea over the weekend, Rafa Benitez may consider bringing in Hart to challenge for the first choice position at St James Park.
