As The Birmingham Mail finds out, Celtic are likely to beat Aston Villa for the signing of Kundai Benyu from Ipswich Town.
Several other clubs are also interested in the young rising star, including Tottenham and West Ham. However, it seems that the player is keen on a move to Celtic, where he would work under Brendan Rodgers.
After their triumphant campaign, the Scottish champions will look to add depth to their team since they will compete on several fronts.
The 19-year-old Benyu had an impressive loan spell at Aldershot Town, and over the course of last season he played 21 games and scored 5 goals.
He caught Aston Villa’s eye back in May, but there was no official offer at the time. As it seems, Villa boss Steve Bruce will have to look elsewhere for young talent, and Kundai Benyu will probably snub the Villains for a move to Celtic.
