As The Sunday Express reports, Aleksandar Mitrovic could be joining Fenerbahce during the summer, and Newcastle United seem to be looking for ways to offload the Serbian striker.
Mitrovic had joined the Magpies in 2015, signing a five-year deal and coming in with huge expectations on his young shoulders. However, Mitrovic’s performances level have been way below par, and he only managed to show sporadic glimpses of his true potential.
The 22-year-old attacker has been in much better form for his national team though and scored a couple of highly important goals for Serbia in the World Cup qualifiers.
Newcastle United would be ready to accept a cut-price deal, and reports are saying that the estimated price of £16 million could even go down to £13 million during negotiations.
The Turkish side are more interested in a loan, and are not keen on signing Mitrovic on a permanent transfer.
