Everton goalkeeper talks about record transfer fee

Following his transfer to Everton, Jordan Pickford has claimed that the only figure he cares about is how many penalties he saves.

After his sale from Sunderland to the Toffees’ was completed this past week, Pickford became the most expensive English goalkeeper in history.  Despite having a huge price tag attached to his name, Pickford has claimed that he will not let it get to his head and rather focus his attention on saving penalties.

Whilst speaking about his record transfer, Pickford said, “It’s just a number, isn’t it? It doesn’t affect me. It’s my job to keep the ball out of the net and that’s what I’ve done. I’ve kept a clean sheet. If it goes to a shoot-out later in the tournament I’ll be confident going into it. But hopefully we don’t have to go to penalties and produce a bit of magic by keeping clean sheets.”

The talented Pickford is showing that he is ready to give it his all for his new team.
