Jonny Hayes’ situation could be much clearer in the upcoming two days. According to Daily Star, Celtic officials have sent an official offer for the Aberdeen’s winger.
The speculated sum is £1.3 million plus the services of Ryan Christie, who spent the last 6 months among the Dons as a loaned player. If this deal goes through Christie will be loaned for the full upcoming season.
Before the latest bid, Cardiff City were the main favorite to land Hayes, but eventually, they withdrew from the negotiations a week ago.
Birmingham and Nottingham Forest also expressed their interest in the player, but for now, Celtic have made the biggest step by sending the official offer for the 29-year-old winger.
At the moment, Hayes is with the Irish national team on international duties, but he will come to Scotland on a jet flight, and finish all the formalities with the Hoops.
Since 2012, when he joined Aberdeen, Hayes played 165 games and scored 23 goals.
If everything goes as planned, Brendan Rodgers will get a reliable and experienced winger, who can contribute a lot in the offensive part of the game.
