Sammy Ameobi is reportedly a target of Bolton after spending the past nine years with Newcastle.
Ameobi is expected to be released at the end of his current deal and Bolton, who won promotion back to the Championship this past season, are looking to sign him this summer.
The 25-year-old Ameobi, who joined the Magpies in 2008, boasts 69 appearances for the club and four goals to his name. He spent the first half of this past season on loan with Bolton and impressed at the club making 25 appearances and scoring four goals.
Ameobi was however recalled by manager Rafa Benitez for the second half of the season as Newcastle needed extra cover.
The player was unable to find a way into the first team thoughand only managed four appearances during the second half of the season. Ameobi is now surplus to requirements at Newcastle and the chances of Bolton signing him is high.
