According to reports, Everton are lining up a potential move for St Etienne goalkeeper Stephane Ruffier. The 30-year-old Ruffier was ever-present for his club this past season, making 31 appearances in Ligue 1.
The Toffees are looking for a new goalkeeper to challenge for their number one spot after neither Maarten Stekelenburg nor Joel Robles were convincing in their performances.
The Merseyside club have been strongly linked with a move for Sunderland shot-stopper Jordan Pickford but they are demanding £30 million which could turn off Everton.
Ruffier will also not come cheap as he is contracted to St Etienne until 2021. Arsenal are also rumored to be interested in a move for Ruffier as they look for a new back up goalkeeper given that David Ospina is set to depart for Fenerbahce this summer.
Everton will be a more attractive option for Ruffier as he will be able to challenge for first team action.
