Newcastle United manager Rafa Benitez reportedly held meetings with Chelsea youngster Tammy Abraham in order to convince the youngster to join the Magpies ahead of next season.
During the meetings, Benitez is said to have convinced Abraham that he will get regular game time for the first team next season.
Though the Magpies faced competition from Brighton and Hove Albion in the race to sign the youngster, the have reportedly won the battle.
Abraham was in brilliant form in the Championship this past season and netted 26 goals. Chelsea will feel that he is now prepared to play in the Premier League and will likely use this loan move to gauge whether he will form part of their plans going into the future.
Abraham will likely play a supporting role for Dwight Gayle next season while also competing with the Magpies main striker for a place in the team. In the 19-year-old Abraham, Newcastle will know that they have themselves a striker who could blossom into a superstar over the coming years.
