Everton reportedly plotting a shock move for 30-year-old England international

According to reports, Everton are weighing up a shock move for Leicester forward Jamie Vardy as a possible replacement for Romelu Lukaku.

Belgian international Lukaku is currently the subject of a £100 million tug of war between Manchester United and Chelsea.

Vardy, who played a key role in Leicester City’s Premier League winning 2015-16 season, scored 13 times last term in what was a disappointing season for the Foxes.

Though the 30-year-old Vardy turned out the advances of Arsenal last summer in favor of a new four year deal at the King Power Stadium worth £100,000 a week, he may be tempted by a move to Goodison Park especially considering that the Toffees will offer him the prospect of Europa League football.

A factor which could work in Everton’s favor is that Vardy is said to enjoy close relationship with their director of football Steve Walsh, who will likely speak to the England international.
