Everton to halt their interest in 23-year-old due to £30million asking price

According to reports, Everton may halt their interest in Sunderland goalkeeper Jordan Pickford as a result of the Black Cats demanding £30 million for the services of their first choice shot-stopper.

Despite Sunderland finishing in last place in the Premier League and being relegated this past season, Pickford was one of the few players from the club that played impressively and was even a nominee for the PFA Young Player of the year award, which Dele Alli won.

It is widely believed that Sunderland will not be short of offers for Pickford and the young keeper will also be keen to extend his stay in the top flight as he looks to challenge for a place in the England national team squad.

Everton were keen on Pickford, considering their struggles with Joel Robles and Maarten Stekelenburg this season. However they may not inquire further unless Sunderland lowers their asking price.
