Everton boss Ronald Koeman is reportedly lining up a move for Croatian goalkeeper Lovre Kalinic after pulling out of the race to sign Sunderland shot-stopper Jordan Pickford.
Gent goalkeeper Kalinic is regarded as being one of the best goalkeepers in the Belgian league and Everton are looking to sign him in order to challenge for their first choice goalkeeping position next season.
Kalinic, who is known for his big physique, played impressively against Tottenham in the Europa League last 32 in February as Gent pulled off one of the upsets of the tournament by eliminating the Premier League runners up 3-2 on aggregate.
The Merseyside club recently submitted a bid worth £8 million to lure Pickford but Sunderland did not consider this and are said to be demanding a fee in the region of £30 million, which Everton are not prepared to pay.
The Toffees are only willing to pay £15 million to lure the 23-year-old Pickford and talks are reported to have stalled.
