According to reports, Newcastle United are interested in Barcelona youngster Carlos Alena. Alena is a promising talent that is a product of Barca’s World class La Masia academy.
The 19-year-old is a regular starter for the Barcelona B team and made his senior debut for the first team during the past season.
By the end of the season, the youngster managed four first team appearances in all competitions for the senior side and managed to find the back of the net once.
With Alena having just one year left on his current deal with Barca though, he could be tempted to leave and join a club where he will get regular first team action.
The Spain under-21 captain is said to have a bright future and will not be short of offers with Newcastle as well as Arsenal said to be monitoring his progress.
Should Alena be sold, it is likely that Barcelona will insert a buy-back clause into his contract as they have done with many of their other players.
