Tottenham and Everton reportedly battle to sign £22million-rated English defender

Tottenham are set to battle Everton for the signature of £22 million-rated Hull City defender Harry Maguire this summer. The 24-year-old has reportedly already decided to leave Hull following the club’s relegation from the Premier League this season.

Despite the Tigers going down, Maguire was impressive during the season and made 36 appearances in all competitions. Maguire will now have to choose between Spurs and Everton.

Spurs have reportedly been monitoring the performances of Maguire throughout the season and could potentially use him as a replacement for Kevin Wimmer, who looks to be surplus to requirements at the North London club.

Ronald Koeman has reportedly become interested in Maguire as there is a chance that the Merseyside club could lose their battle with Manchester United for the signature of Burnley defender Michael Keane.

Maguire will definitely be a Premier League player next season, though it remains to be seen which club he will end up joining.
