Ronald Koeman expects Everton to challenge for honours next season

Everton manager Ronald Koeman has said that he expects his side to be very strong next season should the club manage to lure the players that he is targeting.

The Toffees are expected to invest heavily this summer as they prepare for Europa League football and aim to challenge for a place in the Champions League next season.

Koeman said, “A clear objective will be to bring in players who will have more productivity. I expect that we can change that for next season. If we can do the business we want to do this summer, the team for next season will be really strong, I believe.”

Over recent weeks, the Merseyside clubs have been linked with exciting prospects including Davy Klaasen, Virgil Van Dijk and Kaspar Schmeichel.

They will need reinforcements in almost every position and may need to replace stars Ross Barkley and Romelu Lukaku, should the duo leave.
