Newcastle target Gabriel Pires reportedly has a release clause of £6 million. The 23-year-old Gabriel was bought by Juventus from Brazillian club Vasco da Gama a few years ago but failed to ever play a professional game for the Italian club.
Instead he endured loan stints with Resende, Pro Vercelli, Spezia, Pescara, Livorno and Leganes. After playing a crucial role in helping Leganes win promotion to the Spanish La Liga during the 2015-16 season, Gabriel moved to the club permanently last summer.
He once again impressed this season, helping Leganes avoid relegation by scoring eight goals form 40 appearances. After failing to lure Gabriel during the January transfer window, Newcastle are now more hopeful as they can activate the £6 million clause in his contract.
The Magpies will have to compete with Everton and West Ham as well as Zenit St Petersburg, who are also rumored to be interested in the Brazil attacker, though the player is said to not be keen on a move to Russia.
