According to reports, Newcastle United are set to sell Daryl Murphy and Grant Hanley as they prepare for life in the English Premiership.
During the season, Murphy made just 14 appearances and has not managed to threaten Dwight Gayle’s position in the starting lineup. Manager Rafael Benitez may be looking in to bring in younger talent in order to provide more competition to Gayle.
Hanley, who joined the Magpies from Blackburn Rovers for £5.5 million last summer, has struggled for game time this season with Benitez opting to select Jamaal Lascelles and Ciaran Clark in defence.
Newcastle will be looking to bring in players with experience during the summer as Benitez reportedly being given an £100 million budget to bolster the squad. Due to his know-how in the Championship, Murphy is unlikely to be short of offers.
According to reports, Hanley is also attracting interest from the likes of Wolves and Derby County. Both players will be looking to gain more regular game time should they leave.
