Newcastle United are set to swoop for Fulham star Tom Cairney once they seal promotion to the Premier League. Rafa Benitez is reportedly a fan of the 26-year-old and sent scouts to watch him in action against Huddersfield during the weekend.
Cairney has yet to taste Premier League football and there is no doubt that he will be keen on experiencing the top flight especially as he is now approaching the peak of his career.
Should Fulham fail to seal promotion via the playoffs, there is a very high chance that he will push for a move to the Magpies. A move for the Scotland international is estimated to cost the Magpies in the region of £10 million.
Bournemouth and Burnley are also reported to be interested in luring Cairney. Should Fulham fail to win promotion, keeping him at Craven Cottage will definitely be a very difficult task.
