Celtic defender Erik Sviatchenko has expressed frustration about his current status at the club, which will fuel speculation that he will leave during the summer.
Since the start of the New Year, the Danish international has struggled for regular game time at the Bhoys and has admitted that the situation is “tiresome” with Dedryck Boyata and Jozo Simunovic being above him in the pecking order.
The 25-year-old said, “It is obviously a tiresome situation, especially when I’ve had such a big role until July and then not be as dominant as I’d expected. Right now it’s frustrating.”
Svitchenko is visibly frustrated at Parkhead and it is a good possibility that the Dane will leave the club during the summer as he looks for regular first team game time.
He was reportedly a target of English club Leicester City during the winter window but decided against a move as he had not been promised regular game time.
