Everton boss Ronald Koeman slams ‘crazy’ Liverpool bench

Everton manager Ronald Koeman has complained about “crazy” behavior from the Liverpool bench during his side’s Merseyside derby loss on Saturday.

The Dutchmen felt that the Reds players had attempted to influence the referee’s decisions in their favor.

While no red cards were produced during the match, it was a very physical encounter filled with tackles. Everton ended up receiving three yellow cards while Emre Can was the only Liverpool player to be booked.

Koeman was unhappy with the way the Liverpool bench had reacted following Ross Barkley’s poor challenge on DejanLovren in the 39th minute.  That said, the 23-year-old was lucky to only get a yellow card.

Koeman told Sky Sports, “Tackles are part of football.  “It’s all about football, but we don’t make a show from the bench like Liverpool.

“It’s football – a hard and fair game. I don’t like coaches from the bench the whole time shouting to referees and linesmen, making a big show about tackles.

Liverpool ended up winning through goals from talisman Sadio Mane as well as Phillippe Coutinho and Divock Origi.
