Liverpool Football Club aren’t exactly short on the number of young players at the moment. And manager Jurgen Klopp isn’t all too keen to let any of them go.
According to the Coventry Telegraph, they are set to offer Ryan Kent a contract to keep him at the club for the foreseeable future.
The winger is just 20 years of age, and he has been out on loan this season at Barnsley. And he and the Championship side have been doing pretty well this season. The side itself has achieved more than many expected, and Kent has scored twice and assisted twice in 39 total appearances to date.
The winger has looked promising for the Reds for a while, but he’s probably not quite hit the heights he’d have been expected to at the Championship club. Still yet, it’s better for him to get time there than to sit on the bench elsewhere or to turn out for the reserves.
This looks very likely to get done soon, and only time will tell if Kent and the rest of the youngsters (save Woodburn and maybe Alexander-Arnold) will get a real chance.
