Burnley center back Michael Keane has had quite the season this year. The Englishman, fresh off of his first cap for the senior nation side, is said to be a transfer target of a number of sides, including both Liverpool and Everton, among others.
According to the Independent, Keane spoke about the attention he’d been receiving of late by saying “It’s flattering to see (the interest), but I’m focused on Burnley. But to see things like that can only mean you’re playing well.”
Burnley and Keane were promoted from the Championship last season in a year in which Keane grew immensely as a player. He’s then carried that form with him as the club have stepped up, and he’s been especially great for them at home at Turf Moor.
This signing would be a good one for Liverpool, no doubt, but it’s going to cost a ton of money if it’s to get done. Just to sign an English international is going to make his price go up three times. That makes this unlikely at best to happen, but Reds fans can still have a modicum of hope.
