28-year-old international confirms he will be at Newcastle next season

Tim Krul has confirmed that he will rejoin Newcastle United after his loan deal with AZ Alkmaar expires at the end of the season.  After recovering from a cruciate ligament injury, Krul joined Ajax at the start of the season.

However having failed to make a single appearance for the club, he joined AZ in January.

He has earned game time at AZ and his saved penalty secured the club’s place in the Dutch Cup final, though they have only won one of the eight games he has played.  Three matches were draws and four were defeats.

Whilst speaking to Dutch outlet Omroepwest, Krul said, “Newcastle is where I’m going to go in the summer.”

Krul is a quality keeper as he showed during many of the 160 League appearances, which he has made for the Magpies since 2006. He is unlikely to regain the first choice position once he rejoins the club but will provide good competition to Karl Darlow.
