Real Madrid are looking to make a move, according to one news outlet, for a Liverpool star. But it’s not who you might think it is. It’s not Philippe Coutinho that they’re after. It’s actually young center back Joe Gomez. Footbie has multiple videos that show the young center back in action.
According to the report from Diario Gol in Spain, Zinedine Zidane is eager to sign the young man that has featured very rarely for Liverpool to date. Gomez, bought from Charlton Athletic by Brendan Rodgers in the summer of 2015, has had some terrible injury luck.
He’s a versatile option, capable of playing at left back or in the center, and has been seen as a definite prospect. But he’s only just began his Anfield career, and he’s currently in between the U-23 side and the first team as there is a logjam in front of him at the moment.
A move to Madrid seems very unlikely at this point, but they will need new defenders at some point given the age of their present back line. Gomez’s move to Madrid would be a shock, but there have been bigger shocks before.
