Siem De Jong has admitted that he hopes to return to Newcastle United when his loan deal with Dutch Eredivisie club PSV Eindhoven expires at the end of the season. The 28-year-old has a contract with the Magpies which runs until the summer of 2020.
He said as reported by Chronicle Live, “I want to return [to Newcastle]. Newcastle United is a great club, especially when they play in the Premier League. I hope there opportunities going to get and I want also to fight.”
The attacking midfielder arrived at the Tynside club in 2014 but had the unfortunate wrath of suffering injury setbacks which hampered his progress at the club.
He has been in decent form for PSV this season, notching five goals from 19 matches in all competitions and also has a pass accuracy of 84% and a shot accuracy of 70%. These are fine statistics which should make him a good addition to the Newcastle team ahead of next season.
