Celtic youngster Kristoffer Ajer is enjoying his loan spell at Kilmarnock, but he insists that his future lies with the Bhoys.

The 18-year-old joined the Celts from IK Start in 2016 when his compatriot Ronny Delia was still in charge of the club.

The Norway U19 international had struggled for playing time under Brendan Rodgers this season and joined Kilmarnock on a loan deal in January.

The versatile defender has played 90 minutes in each of Kilmarnock’s last three league fixtures and seems to be enjoying his time at the East Ayrshire club.

He also confirmed that he is in constant touch with his parent club and aims to go back to Celtic Park in the summer with valuable first team experience.

“The gaffer wanted us to go out and show that we are good enough to come back in the summer,” he said. “That’s what we hope to do.

“I have contact with Celtic after every game I play and get feedback on what has been good and bad. That’s good for me.

“It’s always been the point of the loan. They see me as a future Celtic player and I need some extra game time. Everything is brilliant now.

“Of course I see myself as a future Celtic player and they do too. That’s good to know.”

Kilmarnock are currently unbeaten in their last four league games and occupy the sixth spot in the league table. They will next play second-placed Aberdeen at Rugby Park on Sunday.
