Everton winger Yannick Bolasie returned to his clubs Halewood training complex as he continues his recovery from a long term knee injury, as reported by the Daily Mirror.
Bolasie who cost Everton £28 million during the summer suffered an horrific injury during Everton’s 1-1 draw with Manchester United in December and manager Ronald Koeman admitted after the game that he expects to be without the player for the majority of 2017.
Koeman said, “He’s, at the moment, optimistic. It is a long-term injury, 10, 11, 12 months. He will come back, he has a strong mentality.”
Everton fans will certainly be disappointed by the status of Bolasie. He is a world class player and his absence will be a blow to the team who have displayed impressive form and surprised many this season.
However, his presence at the gym certainly proves that he is on the road to recovery. Bolasie will also be expected to play a key role in Koeman’s attempts to challenge for trophies in the coming years.
