Yet Another Example of Liverpool’s Failures in the Transfer Market

Crystal Palace have finally become the club to sign Liverpool’s wantaway center back Mamadou Sakho.  But it’s not exactly what the Reds would have wanted as he has joined the club on a loan deal until the end of the season.

Sakho has not featured at all this season for Jurgen Klopp’s side, and it was rumored that Liverpool were holding out for a permanent transfer of the French international defender.  Apparently, no one mustered up enough cash to push the deal through.

It appears that there is no option for Palace to buy him or loan him back after the end of the season, as Liverpool were likely desperate to offload him somewhere.

This is a decent move from Liverpool in terms of wages, but it’s a little frustrating to see that they’ve been bullied by another club(s) yet again in the transfer window.  When they aren’t signing mediocre players, they are pushed back and made to sell, or in this case, loan someone when they don’t want to.
