Report: Liverpool target has talked to former Red

Last week, Liverpool were linked with a move to finally acquire a left back in Riza Durmisi, a 23-year-old Danish international currently at Real Betis. He’s had a heck of a year as he’s only been in Spain a few months after moving from Danish club Brondby in the summer.

While in Denmark, he played alongside former Liverpool center back Daniel Agger. Durmisi told the Liverpool Echo that he and the imposing Dane had talked before but that “it’s not something we’ve talked about at this time.”

Durmisi also said that he doesn’t think the move is likely at this time. This comes after Jurgen Klopp continued to put our transfer zeal with his words. Durmisi says he’s at a big club, and he’s taken a smart approach with that.

This is a sensible move for all parties. The fee that’s been rumored is quite high for someone who has just arrived at a top-level league in European football. And Liverpool will want to be very careful to make sure they actually find what they are looking for this time before they spend a fortune on it.
