Sadio Mane’s Senegal side have been knocked out of the Africa Cup of Nations after he missed the deciding penalty against Cameroon. ESPNFC sources are now reporting that Liverpool are going to “rush” him back for the match against Chelsea on Tuesday night.
It is said that Liverpool will send a private jet for their star winger in the hopes of him playing against Chelsea. This is a bit of a foolish plan. Liverpool’s form has been awful, no doubt, but that can’t be blamed on not having Mane.
This makes it look like a bit of an excuse in reality. To make matters worse, Mane has been playing a ton of matches and will not be in the greatest of moods.
If Liverpool use him as anything more than a sub, they will also be risking injury to one of their best players. This looks very possible to happen, but it is really a quite curious one that could backfire for Liverpool in a very big way.
