Everton’s transfer window continues to stay busy as today the club announced that they had signed Wolfsburg attacking player Anton Donkor on loan for the remainder of the season.
The 19-year-old German youth international will be suiting up for the Everton U-23 team for the time being.
This move is one with an obvious eye on the future, however, as Donkor can play in a number of positions in attack, and he is also left-footed.
Given Ronald Koeman’s commitment to youth, this is a great opportunity for all involved. Donkor will be hoping to turn enough heads to claim a larger role.
Whether that larger role comes back at Wolfsburg, at Everton, or elsewhere in the future remains to be seen at this point.
Donkor will need to prove his worth at the U-23 level, but if he does so he will get a chance. Koeman has shown time and time again that he will give youth a shot.
