Everton miss out on the signing of Swedish attacker

Alexander Isak, who was reportedly on Everton’s radar, has joined German Bundesliga outfit Borussia Dortmund it can be confirmed.

At just 17-years-old, Isak has become one of Europe’s hottest properties after developing a reputation of being a lethal goal scorer. Earlier this month he became Sweden’s youngest goal scorer.

There were rumors that Real Madrid was set to complete the signing of Isak, though it now seems that he has favored Borussia Dortmund.

Dortmund have built a reputation over recent years due to success in managing young players and giving them first team opportunities.

Young players who have currently established themselves firmly in the Dortmund first team include Christian Pulisic (18), Ousmane Dembele (19), Julian Weigl (21) and Raphael Guerreiro (23). This may have strongly influenced Isak’s decision.

The status of Martin Odegaard who signed for Madrid as a 16 year old in January 2015 and whom has only made one appearance since joining before leaving to join Heerenveen in the Netherlands this month is likely to have influenced Isak’s decision as well.
