Liverpool reportedly plotting a move for Italian international; potential replacement for Sturridge?

Premier League side Liverpool are currently eyeing up a swoop for Torino striker Andrea Belotti, according to reports from Italian outlet Il Messagero (Daily Star in English).

Liverpool are clearly enjoying a very fruitful campaign so far and having recently moved into the summit of the Premier League table, it has to be said that the Reds are genuine title contenders this season.

However, there is still a long way to go before Liverpool can start dreaming about claiming their first ever triumph in the Premier League and given the level of competition this term, Jurgen Klopp will surely not allow the players to get complacent anytime soon.

In order to further boost his side’s chances of claiming the title, Klopp is very likely to be strengthening his ranks during the upcoming January transfer window and signing a striker could be on the agenda for the German manager.

There have been widespread reports that Daniel Sturridge is not happy at Anfield at the moment due to the lack of first team football coming his way and there is a possibility that the England international could end of leaving Liverpool this winter.

If indeed Sturridge leaves, Klopp will surely look to bring in a new attacker and according to Italian outlet Il Messagero, claims have now been made that the Liverpool boss is currently eyeing up a swoop for Torino star Andrea Belotti.

Belotti has emerged as one of the most promising young prospects in Italian football in recent times and the striker has been in sensational form during the current Serie A campaign, scoring 8 goals in 10 appearances so far.

The 22-year-old’s fine form has caught the attention of a host of clubs across Europe and claims are now being made that Liverpool are ready to splash the cash in order to secure the services of the Italian international during the January transfer window.
