Liverpool Strongest Possible Lineup vs Burton: Matip, Grujic and Origi to start

Liverpool started off their Premier League campaign in fine fashion with a 4-3 victory over Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium but they were brought crashing back down to earth once again after falling to an extremely disappointing 2-0 defeat against Burnley during the weekend.

The defeat has certainly left the Liverpool side deflated but they have a great opportunity to get back to winning ways in midweek, in a clash against Championship minnows Burton Albion at the Pirelli Stadium on Tuesday night.

While Liverpool head into the clash as favourites, Burton have proven themselves to be no pushovers in the Championship so far and Nigel Clough’s men will surely give Jurgen Klopp’s stars a difficult time during the encounter.

Here is the strongest possible Liverpool lineup for the clash against Burton –

Goalkeeper

With Loris Karius remaining ruled out, it looks like Simon Mignolet will be continuing in goal for Liverpool on Tuesday.

Klopp has the option of choosing veteran Alex Manninger but Mignolet should be favoured due to the tricky nature of the encounter.

Defence

There could be a couple of changes in defence for the clash as the likes of Joel Matip and Trent Alexander-Arnold are expected to feature.

In order to facilitate the duo, it looks like Nathaniel Clyne and Ragnar Klavan will be dropping out of the squad while Dejan Lovren and Alberto Moreno should keep their place in the starting lineup at the back.

Midfield

Marko Grujic was impressive during pre-season and he looks set to start against Burton on Tuesday while Emre Can should also be named in the starting lineup after he was left out against Burnley during the weekend.

Kevin Stewart will also be hopeful of a start but Klopp may decide to go with the experienced duo of either Jordan Henderson or James Milner alongside the young duo of Grujic and Can.

The likes of Philippe Coutinho and Georginio Wijnaldum look set to be rested during the encounter but Roberto Firmino and Adam Lallana could get the nod to start in the wide areas.

Attack

Daniel Sturridge did not enjoy the best of games upon his return to the lineup against Burnley and one should expect Divock Origi to be leading the line for Liverpool on the night.
