Liverpool repotedly chasing Stuttgart’s £12m midfielder

According to The Sport Review (via Daily Mail), Liverpool is facing competition in their interest to sign £12m Stuttgart player Filip Kostic.

The twenty-two-year-old midfielder attracted interest from quite a few big European clubs, but most notably Liverpool, Valencia and Southampton are most serious in their intentions of signing the Serbian footballer.

Kostic showed his talent last season, when he scored 5 goals in 30 league appearances for Stuttgart, and he established himself as one of the most important players in the German club.

However, there is no doubt he would be a great asset for the Merseyside club, should they decide to sign him. The main reason for this could be departure rumours concerning Lucas Leiva, Joe Allen and Philippe Coutinho.

If some of those players actually leave the club, that’s going to leave a lot of space in the middle of the field. Klopp is surely going to keep on looking for the right guys in order to fill that void. Does Kostic have the potential to be one of them? I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
