According to reports coming from Squawka, Liverpool are interested in the acquisition of 23-year-old Argentine Striker Lucas Alario from River Plate in the summer.

Being rated as one of the best young prospects in the Country, Lucas has scored 10-goals in 19-games for the Argentine outfit this Season.

Although he started his career with Colon in 2011, Lucas has hit the top form after signing for River Plate in the summer of 2015. His 4-year stay at Colon yielded only 12 goals in more than 60-appearances.

However, ever since his signature for the Argentine Giants, Lucas has been one of the mouth-watering prospects in Argentine football. Dubbed as the big thing of the Argentine football by many, Lucas increased his stock when he led River Plate to the Copa Libertadores in 2015.

Although Liverpool have scouted the Argentine Striker for quite some time now, it is Jurgen Klopp who has indicated his interest in a summer move for the 23-year-old.

However, despite his building reputation, it would be difficult for Lucas to earn a place in the Liverpool starting XI. The Reds already have 4-strikers at the helm, with Roberto Firmino also making inroads for a position in the Liverpool strike department.

Thus, while Lucas might be tempted by a move to Liverpool, he might have to work very hard to earn his position should he decide to move to the Merseyside club.
