Liverpool have entered the race to sign Lorient full-back Raphael Guerreiro along with rivals Arsenal, as reported by the Daily Mail. The 22-year-old French full-back also has the ability to play on the left wing role and is valued at around 25-Million Euros by the French side.
Guerreiro was an influential figure in the Portugal U-21 side that reached the UEFA European Final last year. His performances at Stade De Moustoir haven’t gone unnoticed as the likes of PSG and Atletico Madrid are all interested in his acquisition.
Both Liverpool and Arsenal are claimed to be the front runners for his signature with the player keen to a move to the English football. Aged just 22, Raphael is a tailor-made player for both Liverpool and Arsenal as both clubs look to strengthen the left side of their defense.
While Arsenal are looking for a replacement of Kieran Gibbs, Liverpool are reportedly looking for a replacement of Alberto Moreno. The 22-year-old Spanish full-back has attracted interest from the likes of Real Madrid this Season.
However, it is the inconsistency of his performances and not the links with Real Madrid that might prompt Liverpool to replace Moreno. He has been caught napping many times this Season and Jurgen Klopp might axe the Spanish in search of a better option.
