Two summer signings set to leave Liverpool

The duo of Adam Bogdan and Christian Benteke are set to leave Liverpool, according to reports from the Sun and the Daily Star respectively

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has not been as active as many expected him to be during the January transfer window but it is clear to see that the 48-year old has already decided which players of the current Reds’ squad he would like to retain and those who are set to be dispensed.

Among the players who have failed to impress Klopp are goalkeeper Adam Bogdan and striker Christian Benteke. Bogdan had been signed by former Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers as backup to Simon Mignolet but the former Bolton man has failed to impress whenever he has started.

Bodgan wants first team football

With Danny Ward being recalled from his loan spell at Aberdeen, Bodgan has been relegated to third choice under Klopp and the Sun claim that the 28-year old is now ready to leave Anfield in January in a bid to earn regular first team football.

While Bogdan was only signed as a backup, Christian Benteke was one of Rodgers’ marquee signings over the summer for a fee of around £32.5million but since the arrival of Klopp, the Belgian international has hardly started.

Benteke set for summer Liverpool exit

Klopp does not see Benteke as a player who will be suited to his high pressing tactics and it is believed that the German is open to dispensing with the services of the 25-year old according to reports from the Daily Star.

However, Benteke is likely to be staying put at Liverpool till the end of the season and will only make his move following the 2016 European Championships in France.
