Liverpool are keen on signing England Under-21 international Ola Aina according to reports from the Daily Express
Chelsea may be criticized for not giving youngsters from their youth team a chance to impress in the first team on a consistent basis but there is no shortage of talent in the Blues’ academy and one of the most promising young players in the London side’s ranks is defender Ola Aina.
Aina is a full back who has been creating waves for the Chelsea Under-19’s after impressing in the UEFA Youth League and was even included in the first team pre-season squad by manager Jose Mourinho ahead of the current campaign.
Very highly regarded, Aina recently managed to win a place in Gareth Southgate’s England Under-21 side as well and big things are expected from the defender.
Aina being courted by Liverpool
Despite his exceptional talent though, Aina’s future at Chelsea has been put into doubt as he has not yet signed an extension to his contract which expires at the end of the current campaign.
As a result, a host of clubs are said to be interested in taking advantage of the situation by making a swoop for Aina and according to reports from the Daily Express, it has been claimed that Liverpool are considering a move for the 19-year old.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is a well known advocate of taking a chance on young players and the 48-year old is believed to be impressed by what he has seen of Aina so far.
Signing Aina will not be a straightforward affair for Liverpool though as even the likes of Napoli and Borussia Dortmund are reported to be interested in signing the defender.
