Liverpool eye Spanish international as a replacement for Sakho

After spending two seasons at Anfield Road, the international French defender Mamadou Sahko might be on his way out of The Reds as SS Lazio have reportedly offered him a very interesting deal.

Sahko arrived at Liverpool back in 2013 and it is fair to say that he probably didn’t have the influence one could expected from a quality player such as him.

Liverpool’s defence line didn’t have the best of times last season, as they have conceded no more no less than 48 goals in 38 matches, a fairly unreasonable amount for a side that allegedly wants to claim their place among the top 3 or 4 teams.

The arrival of the highly rated Dejan Lovren didn’t produce an immediate effect on the team and now the hypothetical departure of Mamadou Sahko to Serie A will definitely force Liverpool to bring in a quality centre back.

Recent reports from the media pointed out to Barcelona’s talented young centre back Marc Bartra as Liverpool’s main target to strengthen their back line but with the transfer ban the Catalan team is currently facing and considering the bids they have already rejected from him (as for example the one from SSC Napoli last week), Liverpool will certainly need to work extra hard in order to convince Barça to sell them the defender.
