After a couple of weeks without major club football, this weekend we will finally get some football action. This upcoming Sunday there will be Premier League action with one of those matches being Liverpool vs QPR. The game will take place this Sunday at 5:30 A.M. (PST) and will be played at Loftus Road. QPR have been doing relatively poor this season and they will surely be desperate for a point. On the other hand, Liverpool are still looking to get on the right track and finally get a string of wins.

Liverpool Team News

Liverpool finally managed to grab a win, beating West Brom with a score of 2-1. Prior to that game, the team had lost games to Aston Villa and West Ham United. Many Liverpool fans had considered these two games to be somewhat easy games for the team, but the team performed poorly. Maybe the team needed an international break to regroup and reassess their recent performances.

One of the most promising players for Liverpool and the league so far has been Raheem Sterling. The young 19-year old has made waves throughout Europe and several big clubs such as Real Madrid have shown interest in him. On another note, Mario Balotelli has yet set to make a significant contribution to the team. His lack of goals could be attributed to his style of play, which is static compared to the rest of the team.

Injuries have also been a concern for the squad in the past couple of weeks. The absence of Daniel Sturridge certainly left an impact on the club’s performances, since they desperately needed a constant threat inside the box. With Sturridge’s return this week against QPR, the Reds may be able to turn things around and get on the right path. Other players that may make a return in the game against QPR include Dejan Lovren, Emre Can and Joe Allen.

QPR Team News

QPR are currently sitting at the bottom of the league with a goal difference of -11. Newcastle and Burnley FC are also tied with them in overall points, but their goal difference is lower. Although they were recently promoted to the Premier League, QPR is struggling to keep up with other teams. Additionally, there are a couple of injured players that still have a ways to go if they want to return to play.

Two key players that will not be able to play will be midfielders, Joey Barton and Jordon Mutch. They will be both sidelined with hamstring injuries. Their absence will hinder their chances of winning against a recovering Liverpool squad. On the somewhat bright side, Niko Kranjcar could make an appearance even after suffering a broken toe during practice.

Prediction

WIth the way things are looking at the moment, Liverpool may start to perform better in upcoming matches. The return of players such as Sturridge, Lovren and Allen will strengthen the squad’s depth and options. A match against the last placed team in the Premier League will give them an easier challenge. Conversely, QPR have not been playing good football and their struggles may continue this Sunday against Liverpool. Overall, the Liverpool vs. QPR clash will most likely end in a 2-0 win by Liverpool.

TV Schedule

The Liverpool vs QPR match will be televised on Sky Sports 1 and NBCS at 5:30 A.M. (PST) this October 19.
