Which team has the finest stadium fans in the – Liga MX?

4. Cruz Azul :  The ‘cementeros’ are one of the “big” teams of the Mexican league.  As one of the teams with the most history, titles, and fans, the Estadio Azul has one of the best atmospheres in the Liga MX.  Cruz Azul has a good sized stadium with recurrent good attendance, and most importantly, they also have fans that have stayed loyal to the team even after years of title drought.  This is a team whose fans have aided in always being on the top of the standings, and which have also allowed it to play important tournaments like the Copa Libertadores.

5.  Leon :  The ‘panzas verdes’ are the newest member of the Mexican first division; however, this is a team with 5 titles and decades of history.  Therefore, Leon is loved by thousands of people who were waiting anxiously for ten years for their team to return to the Liga MX after their relegation in 2001.  When Leon was in the second division, fans still filled the stadium and were extremely energetic, sometimes to the point that it lead to violence.  This is a stadium that has seen violence in its return to the Liga MX this 2012, however, for the most part fans are a significant part of the success Leon has had in its return.  Leon reached the playoffs in its first season back, and when playing at home it has been a real threat to opponents because not only do they win often, but they have won by large goal margins.

6.  Monterrey:  The north of Mexico is currently soccer heaven.  With teams like Tigres, Santos, Xolos, and Monterrey who are now typically on top of the standings, fans are filling up the stadiums.  In the case of the ‘rayados’, their fanhood is incredible.  Like their archrivals -Tigres- they sellout every single seat of the season even before the first game begins.  This is a fanbase that fills every seat no matter who plays or what is being played; these are fans who are soccer-maniac.  They love the sport, and they love their team; and this affection is returned by their team because they have become one of Mexico’s elite teams.

7.  Pumas:  Famous for their ‘goya, goya, cachum cachum rara’ chant, the UNAM Pumas followers are Mexico’s most unique fans.  If one would travel to stadiums around Latin America, that person will notice that almost the same soccer chants are sang throughout the continent.  While Pumas does have chants like any other team, they are unique because they do songs unique to the university of the UNAM.  Moreover, Pumas is also one of the most loved teams in Mexico, and with a huge fanbase, attendance is always great at the Cuidad Universitaria.

8. Queretaro:  It is sad to say that a team with one of the most loyal fans is on a freefall into the second division.  Queretaro has a beautiful stadium that until recently was always filled when the team played.  The fans of this team are loud, they sing along, and cheer for their team through good times and bad times.  Although a team that has not won a game in the Apertura 2012, the fans were a big part in their team reaching the Apertura 2011 semifinals.
