Club América will again be without Raphael Veiga on Wednesday night. According to Carlos Rodrigo Hernández of FOX Sports México, the Brazilian has still not fully recovered and will miss the Jornada 13 visit to Atlas at Estadio Jalisco, a second straight absence for one of América’s main attacking figures.

Veiga sat out Saturday’s 5-3 win at León after taking a knock in training, with Guillermo Almada unwilling to risk him ahead of the midweek fecha doble. Hernández now reports the recovery has not come in time for Atlas either. The club has issued no parte médico, and tomorrow’s squad list and lineup remain the official confirmation.

Carlos Álvarez is again the likely replacement in Veiga’s role. The Spaniard deputized at León and scored his first América goal in that 5-3 win, and Hernández reports Almada can turn to him again at the Jalisco. Veiga has played nine matches in the Apertura 2026, with one goal in 589 minutes.

The absence lands in a top of the table match. América lead the Apertura 2026 with 24 points, and Atlas sit third on 21, three points back, so Wednesday’s 7:00 PM kickoff in Guadalajara is a direct clash between the leader and one of its closest pursuers. América then host Pachuca on Sunday, October 25 at Estadio Banorte, the next checkpoint for Veiga’s return. U.S. viewing information for Atlas vs Club América is in our Club América watch page.
