Match Preview
There is more than a final place on the line: the winners qualify for the 2027 Concacaf Champions Cup, and the eventual champion earns a bye into its round of 16.
Portmore United are Jamaica’s most decorated club, with eight Jamaica Premier League titles, and the reigning Jamaica Premier League playoff champions. They finished second in Group B behind Mount Pleasant FA and had to win on the road on the final matchday to get here.
Violette AC are one of Haiti’s great old clubs, founded in 1918 and known as Le Vieux Tigre, the Old Tiger. They won the Caribbean title in 2022, and in the 2023 Concacaf Champions Cup they knocked out MLS side Austin FC over two legs, one of the great upsets in the tournament’s modern history.
Violette also carry a burden no other semifinalist has. Their Stade Sylvio Cator home in Haiti is unavailable, so their home leg will be played in the Dominican Republic. Coming out of Kingston level or better matters even more for them.
Recent Form
Portmore’s group campaign was uneven. They lost 2-1 to Salcedo FC in their opener and 1-0 to Mount Pleasant FA, but beat Cavalier 2-0 and then won the match they had to win, 2-1 at Cibao FC on September 17, to take second place in Group B with six points.
Violette were flawless. The Haitian club won all four Group A matches to finish with 12 points, five clear of Club Sando FC, scoring seven goals and conceding one. Their last group outing was a 1-0 win over Club Sando on September 15.
Players to Watch
Cory Burke is Portmore’s man for the big occasion. The Jamaica international forward scored both goals in the 2-1 win at Cibao FC that sent Portmore into the semifinals, a header and a close-range finish. If Portmore take a lead into the second leg, it will likely run through him.
For Violette, the story is collective: a defense that has conceded once in four matches in this tournament now faces the strongest attack it has met in this Caribbean Cup.
When Is the Second Leg of Portmore United vs Violette AC?
The second leg is scheduled for Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at 7:00 PM ET. Violette AC are the home team, but the match will be played at Estadio Cibao FC in Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic, because Violette cannot host in Haiti. The aggregate winners advance to the final.
