The Costa Rica vs Mexico 2022 World Cup CONCACAF qualifying match will be broadcast live online and on TV as Los Ticos host El Tri at the Estadio Nacional de Costa Rica this Sunday, September 5, at 4:00 p.m. Pacific.

Costa Rica began the World Cup qualifiers with a hard-fought scoreless draw against Panama away from home. Los Ticos had a lackluster Gold Cup performance to their standards as they were knocked out by Canada in the quarterfinal stage.

There are very few remnants left of the historic 2014 Costa Rica World Cup squad, but some of the most notable include Bryan Ruiz and star goalkeeper Keylor Navas. One of the major absences for Costa Rica is Joel Campbell, who is recovering from an injury as the workload up front will fall on players like Manfred Ugalde and Ariel Lassiter.

Mexico had a 2-1 win against Jamaica at the Estadio Azteca to begin the CONCACAF qualifiers. Despite bagging the three points, it was a disappointing performance for Mexico as finishing was a key issue for the team.

Alexis Vega and Henry Martin, who were both with the Mexico Olympic squad over the summer scored the goals that led to Mexico’s victory over Jamaica. It will be interesting to see what lineup Gerardo Martino comes out with as players like Andres Guardado, Henry Martin and Uriel Antuna were on the bench against Jamaica.
